Prof. Le Huy Ham, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, VNU University of Engineering and Technology – Vietnam National University
Prof. Lê Huy Hàm is a distinguished biologist and professor recognized in 2015. He earned his Ph.D. in Biology in 1986 from Kishinev State University, Moldova (former USSR). Since 1989, he has worked at the Institute of Agricultural Genetics, Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences, serving as Deputy Head of Tissue Culture Division (1992-2001), Deputy Director (2001-2006), and Director (2006-2017). He has led numerous national and international research projects focusing on plant genetics, molecular breeding, and biotechnology, contributing significantly to agricultural science in Vietnam. He has published nearly 260 scientific papers, authored several books, and supervised many graduate students. Prof. Hàm has received numerous awards for his contributions, including first class labor medals, awards from Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Minister of Science and Technology. and recognitions for excellence in science and technology at different levels . He currently serves as Chairman of the National Program for Biotechnology .
Research topics in Agriculture: Crop improvement and breeding, climate change and sustainable agriculture, biotechnology applications in agriculture.

Today, the Faculty of Agricultural Technology organized a seminar with CABI (Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International) – a leading global non-profit organization in agriculture and biosciences. This was a precious opportunity for students of cohorts 66, 67, 68, and 69 to listen, learn, and directly engage with international experts.
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Nguyễn Văn Hạnh, a leading expert in Embryology and Cell Biology, who officially joins the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, University of Engineering and Technology – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, starting from July 1, 2025.
After hours of intense studying and stressful exam prep, students from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology now have a new space to relax, connect, and recharge their energy – the Badminton Club for students and young lecturers, established by the Facultys Youth Union and Student Association.
