On 25th September 2019, UET presents a signing ceremony in relationship between UET and the Belarusian State University (BSU) by Prof. Dr. Vasily G. Safonov, Vice Rector and Mrs. Iryna N. Feklistova, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology of BSU.
On the side of UET, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Chu Duc Trinh, Vice Rector, Dr. Pham Minh Trien, Deputy Head of Technology Science, and Development Cooperation Department, Prof. Dr. Le Huy Ham, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology welcome to the delegation.
The UET cooperates BSU based on their strengths in the study of microorganisms that aims to improve the quality of soil through the destruction of plant and soil-borne pathogens and enrich soil nutrients, and increase soil fertility.
The two sides signed a cooperation agreement that aims to establish long-term cooperation in research and development of strains of beneficial bacteria for agriculture to their enhanced capacity through the exchange of training programs and applicated using biotechnology.
The leaders of the two organizations have agreed that they create a collection of root zone bacteria strains capable, stimulating plant growth from the soil and vegetative surfaces. They study the antagonistic activity of strains in a collection; Research on nitrogen fixation ability from the atmosphere and phosphate degradation of strains; Create a new microbiological fertilizer based on the strains of the root zone that have been studied to preserve and increase soil fertility.
This cooperation agreement is valid for 5 years and aims at activities related to information exchange, research, and material transfer between the two parties. The two organizations will exchange information on the progress and results of the project, including the exchange and agreement on intellectual property issues, publications, documents related to researches. Prof. Dr. Vasily G. Safonov affirmed that the BSU and UET cooperates transfer the materials to conduct research; in particular, adopt and select strains of microorganisms for high yield and quality; Cooperate with UET research, and analyze the biological activity of strains. In addition, BSU consulted with UET in cooperation researches related to ownership and keeping of results achieved.
The Belarusian State University (BSU) ranked 334th in the QS World University Rankings 2018, 21st in the QS EECA Rankings. It was established in 1921 at Minsk and a university. It is the largest university in Belarus. The BSU has about 30,000 students, of which two-thirds are international students with 57 majors and more than 200 teaching majors. It has around up to 3,000 lecturers. It was achieved 21 medals and 11 patents on high-tech products at international exhibitions in the Russian Federation, Latvia, Poland, and Belarus.
The BSU is the largest international center that cooperates on education and science. It cooperates with more than 400 universities and scientific institutes worldwide.
